New Year.

2014 is almost over and its has been an amazing year for film and tv. From seeing the astonishing progress in film technology in "Gravity", to the final battle in "The Hobbit:The Battle of the Five Armies". The heartwarming novel "The Fault in our Stars" making an appearance on our cinema screens and making everyone weep to the highly anticipated "Hunger Games" movie. And I could go on forever! Its been one hell of a year!

I think the female star that has really broke through and someone I have enjoyed watching in cinema this year is Shailene Woodley. 2014 has really been her year and she is such an amazing young actress and I look forward to seeing what she comes out with in 2015. With the success of "The Fault in our Stars", which she performed beautifully in and "Divergent" which is also brilliant, she has broke out and made her mark in the world of cinema. In September "White Bird in a Blizzard" was released and Shailene played the main character. And I have to say this is one of the best films I have seen, its just so indie and intriguing and the performances were outstanding, especially Shailenes. So I really recommend this film. With the upcoming "Insurgent" film being released in March which is the second installment from the "Divergent" series. And many other films to be announced, I am very excited to see another amazing year of cinema from Shailene Woodley.

The male star that stood out to me this year is Jamie Dornan, now he has stood out to me more in TV, however he is soon to be the worlds Christian Grey, so I imagine that he has a great film career ahead of him. He has been amazing in TV series' "Once Upon a Time" and "The Fall", I especially loved him in "The Fall" as his character was so intriguing and engaging and I just loved his storyline. And of course, he is soon to be shown on our cinema screens in the highly anticipated raunchy book adaptation "Fifty Shades of Grey". I have to say, I am looking forward to this movie, yes I know, alot of people will lose faith in me for wanting to see it, but I loved the editing of the trailers and how they showed so much yet so little and I am of course looking forward to seeing Jamie Dornan in character, and to see if he lives up to the ever so famous novel character. But I am sure we will be seeing alot more of Jamie on our cinema screens in 2015.
Just a quick fact that Jamie Dornan has already been announced to play the lead role in "The 9th Life of Louis Drax" which does sound amazing! Very excited for his future film announcements!

I have loved many films this year such as "Gone Girl", "The Grand Budapest Hotel", "The Fault in Our Stars", "Boyhood", "THE HUNGER GAMES!", I have obviously loved 100's of other films released this year however I would be here forever! Well this is my last post of 2014, its only a short one however I have many other posts to come. With the exciting release of the new "Woman in Black" and "Into the Woods" and the final "Hunger Games", the highly anticipated "Star Wars" and "Jurassic Park" AND "James Bond". OOO so exciting! Many new actors to emerge onto out screens. I just think 2015 will be an amazing year for cinema! What has been your highlight in film this year? Favourite actor? Favourite movie?
Thank you so so much for reading this quick little post, I hope you all have a brilliant new year and I will see you in 2015 for lots more film posts!
Bye!

Christmas Flicks! 🎄

HOME ALONE!

This film has to be one of my all time favourite Christmas films. I watch it alot over Christmas, as a matter of fact, I just watched it a few hours ago when I got home from work. I don't know, its just one of them nostalgic films that brings back alot of memories from Christmas and one that just makes me very happy! It was written by my favourite writer and director John Hughes (The Breakfast Club) and was directed by Chris Columbus (Mrs Doubtfire).

If you have been hiding under a rock and haven't heard of it or even watched it, then its basically about the McCallister family, as they prepare for a Christmas holiday in Paris, France. But the youngest in the family, Kevin got into a scuffle with his older brother Buzz and was sent to his room which is on the third floor of his house. Then, the next morning, while the rest of the family was in a rush to make it to the airport on time, they completely forgot about Kevin and was left home alone. Then, Kevin discovers that two burglars, Harry and Marv, plan to rob his house on Christmas Eve. Kevin acts quickly by wiring his own house with makeshift booby traps to stop the burglars and to bring them to justice. And if you haven't seen this film, you need too!

Kevin McCallister is played by the controversial yet famous child star Macauley Culkin, and he is so good in this movie, he just portrays perfectly how a child would act if he was left alone and could do what he wanted. And he is very cute! Then there is Joe Pesci (Good Fellas) who plays Harry and Daniel Stern (City Slickers) who plays Marv. These two are just the perfect choices for the roles and make the movie. Their slapstick comedy sketches are class and they really deliver. I love them in this and the second film. Catherine O'Hara (Nightmare Before Christmas) plays Kevin's mother and is just every typical Mother! Speaking of this one of my favourite scenes is right at the beginning when the house is chaos and they are ordering food, arguing, and its just my family's house at Christmas and just makes me laugh!

My favourite part in the whole film is one of the end scenes, with all the booby traps. Its when Harry and Marv attempt to break into the house, but Kevin is one step ahead and has riddled the house with traps! It just so typical slapstick comedy, and I laugh out loud at this scene, its just hilarious. Theres one part in particular and thats when Marv is trying to climb up the stairs which is covered in tar and there is one step with a huge nail on it, and he stands on it! And it one of those funny but "Ahh!" moments. It's just my favourite scene in the whole film.

Obviously this film is part of a franchise, which includes 4 films, in my own personal opinion I only really like the first film, and the second at a push. Mostly because they have the same characters and they are the funniest and best in general. The other two have completely different characters and are completely dreadful! So I would not recommend the 3rd or 4th film. But the 1st and 2nd one, I would definitely reccommend! More the first one!

Thankyou for reading this short little post. And tell me what is your favourite Christmas film?

Just a quick mention. New Trailer-Cinderella

I have previously written a post about the upcoming disney blockbuster Cinderella which will be released in March. But around 8 hours ago, another trailer has been released with a bit more insight into the film. And I have to say it looks stunning and really gets me excited for the movie to be released. So I thought I would share this new trailer with you. They have also released three film character posters which also look stunning and they really do grasp onto that feeling of the traditional fairytale.

What do you think of the trailer? Will you go and see the film? Also check out my previous post on the upcoming Cinderella movie.

STAR WARS RETURNS - FIRST IMPRESSION ON THE TEASER TRAILER.

I love doing these first impressions on trailers for films that are due to be released. And I thought I'd write a quick post on the highly anticipated teaser trailer for Star Wars:The Force Awakens!

Star Wars has such a huge yet dedicated fan base already, so I'm sure the director J.J Abrams feels the pressure to deliver the best Star Wars return for the fans. And those fans, as well as the rest of the world were treated to a sneak peak of the upcoming sequel, that is to be released in December of next year. Now I have to admit it, I am not the biggest Star Wars fan, I have watched all the previous Star Wars films but never really hyped over them, I am just not a big fan. However, I have to say from this teaser, I am very excited for the upcoming sequel. I can imagine that this really brought back the excitement for all the Star Wars fans out there, with the music, droids and most importantly the return of the Millenium Falcon.

However we do not see the classic cast in this teaser. No Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, no Harrison Ford as Han Solo, no Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, or C3P0 and R2D2. And I found this frustrating as it would have boosted the excitement even more to even have a glimpse of one of them! However, we do see a glimpse of John Boyega's character Finn, who is rumoured to be the hero in the upcoming movie, but is dressed in a Stormtrooper outfit. We only see a glimpse of him in this trailer, but he looks very troubled and to be in the middle of something, so this has intrigued me to know his characters story. We also have a glimpse of the Stormtroopers, and Daisy Ridley's character Rey. And we see a dark character, I guess to be the villain in the movie, in the woods with a brand new styles lightsaber, it looks similar to the original but has additional lightsabers added on either end. And let us not forget the glimpse we see of the Millenium Falcon, which I have to say gave me goosebumbs and made me feel very excited!

From this teaser, I have to say I am already very, very impressed with the CGI, and quality of the movie, its just looks stunning and the attention to detail regarding the look of the film will definitely add to the enjoyment of the film in my opinion. If it looks realistic, people will be more drawn in. And I am one of those people who are already drawn in from the high level of production from just seeing a teaser trailer! Like the settings look so realistic and stunning, as does the spaceships and droids and everything! Oh, I am just so so excited! Its finally time for the development in film technology to shine and give Star Wars fans a film to obsess over.

I just have to say, those last few seconds, where we see the Millenium Falcon flying through the sky to the ever so famous Star Wars theme tune, it gives me goosebumbs everytime. Its just so clever how the teaser was put together. Just little snippets to keep you on the edge of your seat! And to get viewers everywhere excited for the new release. And I have loved J.J Abrams previous work and I am very sure he will deliver a brilliant Star Wars sequel and fulfill all Star Wars fans expectations.

But what did you think of the teaser?

Thankyou for reading and I will speak soon! :-)

Christmas Flicks! - Number One! 🎄

Christmas is right around the corner and its time to pull out all the Christmas flicks. I love Christmas, its one of my favourite times of year! I love highlighting programmes to watch in the Radio Times (its a british thing!), the christmas dinner, spending time with family and I love watching all the christmas films! I have so many favourites but in this post I thought i'd talk about "The Holiday".

"The Holiday" is one of my favourite films around Christmas time, its just a lovely film in general. It is mainly based around four characters. First being Iris Simpkins who writes a wedding column in a newspaper and is madly in love with her colleague Jasper Bloom. But near christmas, she finds out that Jasper is engaged to another colleague, and she is heartbroken. Then there is Amanda Woods in Los Angeles, who makes movie-trailers and has just split with her cheating boyfriend Ethan and she wants to forget him. Then Amanda finds a house exchange website, so she swaps her mansion for Iris' cottage in Surrey for Christmas. While in Surrey, Amanda meets Iris' brother Graham and they fall in love with each other. While Iris meets her new next door neighbor the ninety year old screenplay writer Arthur, and she helps to build his confidence again, and she also meets film composer Miles, who she falls in love with.

It stars Kate Winslet (Iris Simpkins), Cameron Diaz (Amanda Woods), Jude Law (Graham Simpkins), and Jack Black (Miles). I love each of these actors individually but watching them all together was a real treat. I just love the idea of Cameran Diaz and Jude Law, they were so cute together in this film and I am a big sucker for a cute, soppy film romance. And I love, love, love Jack Black, he's just go funny, charming and cute in this film and I don't know what it is about him, I just love him! And I have to be honest, i'm not a massive fan of Kate Winslet, not that I don't like her, its just I haven't seen alot of her work besides Titanic and Divergent etc. But she was simply lovely in this film, and her and Jack Black were weirdly great together!

I love the storylines throughout the films, as they are all so cleverly linked and there is something happening all the time. I love the story between Iris and Arthur, its just so sweet and inspiring and just a cute little story to link into the film. And I just love the Amanda and Graham story, its just all over the place but so romantic and I love it! And it all feels so festive at the same time! Oh, I have to say I love Iris' cottage that is set in Surrey, it is so typically British and looks beautiful!

This is one of my favourite films at Christmas time, its just one of those soppy romantic-comedies you can put on and fall in love with. It makes me feel so happy and festive and i'm sure it will make you feel the same!

Thankyou for reading this quick little post and I will be doing a few more over the next few days, with a few more Christmas films!

Disney Disney Disney - Into the Woods!

Disney are pulling it out of the bag and will be releasing their brand new muscial movie "Into the Woods. Maybe besides "Enchanted" I think this will be the first non-animated musical film Disney has brought out. Into the Woods is a modern twist on the Brothers Grimm fairy tales that follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel, all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to start a family and being  faced with the witch who puts a curse on them. And it has been made into a musical which i'm sure will feature some powerful, and catchy songs with Disney's magical touch and twist on them. It will be released at Christmas and looks to be the perfect family flick for all the family for the holiday period!

The trailer was released not too long ago and shows us an all star cast, from the likes of Emily Blunt, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep, James Cordon and many more new young talent making an appearance on the big screen. Stars such as Anna Kendrick has been in Pitch Perfect and Meryl Streep in Mama Mia, obviously this is a completely different musical to those but it will be interesting to see how they perform and sing in this particular movie. What i'm more interested in, is if Chris Pine has any songs, that would definitely be fun to watch! But how can we forget the legend that is Johnny Depp, as we have seen him perform and sing in "Sweeny Todd". And he was amazing and that is in fact one of my favourite films, and "Into the Woods" style looks quite similar to "Sweeny Todd" so I have high expectations for Johnny Depp but i'm sure he will be amazing no matter what! But overall from the trailer, each character looks interesting in their own way and I'm very excited to watch them all and their stories!

It will be released on Christmas day and I definitely will be going to watch it at some point between Christmas and the New Year. Disney really are spoiling us with films such as this one, Cinderella (which I have wrote a post on if your interested, its just below this one) and Maleficent that was released in the summer and I'm sure there are plenty more to come.

Thankyou for reading this quick little post and I have left the "Into the Woods" character posters below because they are just beautiful and make me even more excited for this movie!

Bye! :-)

Cinderella

After an especially exciting teaser, Disney finally released their full trailer for the highly anticipated movie "Cinderella" which will be released in March of next year. The teaser was simply a snippet of the ever so famous glass slipper and it sent shivers down my spine and when I finally watched the full trailer, I was extatic! Its filled with magnificent and magical CGI as well as gowns and balls and magic and has been promised to match or even be better than the outstanding Disney summer blockbuster "Malificent" by the director Kenneth Branagh.

The trailer is quite lengthy and gives you a real insight into the style and story of the movie. Of course, everyone will know the story of Cinderella, but it will be interesting seeing Kenneth Branagh's (Director) take on the fairytale. The style throughout looks so traditional and fairytale like, and just screams Disney.

We are introduced to nearly all the characters in the film, obviously Cinderella who is played by Lily James who is most likely to be known for Downton Abbey. She is so beautiful and incredibly innocent looking, and of course a talented young actress so I think she was a brilliant choice for Cinderella and I cannot wait to see her full performance in the movie! Then we have Richard Madden playing Prince Charming, and I remember watching this trailer for the first time and when I saw him for the first time I wasn't entirely sure about him. I'm not sure what it was, but after watching it again he actually looks like a real life Prince Charming, with the dashing smile, piercing eyes. Oh I do think I will be a little obsessed with him. And then Helena Bonham Carter as The Fairy Godmother, well I think thats all I have to say, she is a brilliant actress and performer and I simply love her, she just makes every character her own whilst putting her own twist on it and I think she will brilliant as The Fairy Godmother! And finally we see Cate Blanchett as The Evil Stepmother, and she really does look the part in the trailer, so stern looking and the way she is dressed throughout, however she looks alot younger than the traditional stepmother from the animated Cinderella film, however we will see how wicked she is when the film is released!

There is a specific part in the trailer in which we see the palace when Cinderella is going to the ball, and I have to say it looks stunning, the CGI and camerawork is faultless and they haven't failed in giving us a snippet into the quality of giving us a fairtytale escape. And of course we see the Fairy Godmother transform a pumpkin into a carriage and give Cinderella the famous glass slippers and beautiful blue gown. And I think in general it will be a high technical quality yet beautiful film. And I have to say the music featured throughout the trailer (Aeon-Nick Murray ft. Juliet Lyons) is simply beautiful and goes perfectly with the style of the film and the film Cinderella its self, it just made it feel ever so more magical.

And a quick fact, that Cinderella's glass slippers were created by Oscar-winning costume designer, Sandy Powell in partner ship with Swarovski, so audiences can be assured that the world famous glass slippers are made from real cyrstals. So once again this screams high quality!

So all in all, I am very excited for this to be released in March and I will definitely be going to see it! Lets see if Disney can pull it out of the bag once again after the amount of success that came with "Malificent".

Thankyou for reading and I'll speak to you soon. :-)

Something different.

I am in my second year of college and currently studying A-level media, as well as film and english language. And as part of our media module, we are watching and studying a film called "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and I have to be honest I had never heard of it before, and I don't why as it is the winner of 5 oscars and a brilliant film!

However we watched this and oh my goodness...it was just outstanding. It was released in 1975 and is basically about a character called McMurphy, who gets in trouble with the law and pleads insanity to prevent him going to prison. He is then put into a mental asylum. And he then meets a group of men in the aslyum and sees what abuse and degradation they go through all from Nurse Ratched. And its just an amazing film and one I would never have thought to watch. McMurphy is a character that you shouldn't like for obvious reasons and is a person that everyone would socially hate but you can't help but love the character and its so clever how its done. But I don't want to tell you too much about his character as I think it would affect your outlook on him when watching the film. You will know what I mean when you watch it.

It won an oscar for best picture, best actor, best actress, best director and best writing/screenplay, and they were all well deserved! Both Jack Nicholson (McMurphy) and Louise Fletcher (Nurse Ratched), who won best actor and actress gave the best performance I have seen in a film for a long time, they both just made the characters so realistic and believable and its so clever how they engage the audience with their characters and they just had a brilliant on-screen performance. And I still can't get over how much you like McMurphy as a character but you really, really shouldn't! But all the characters were great,  its just those two in particular stood out to me the most. Danny Devito was also in this film, he played Martini who was one of the patients, and I recognised him from "Matilda" and "Batman Returns" and "Big Fish". But he too performed amazingly! There was also Vincent Schiavelli who was the subway spirit in "Ghost" and he was in "Batman Returns" as well! And Christopher Llyod who is obviously "Doc Brown" in the "Back to the Future" movies and he was also in "Who Framed Rodger Rabbit" which is a real nostalgic film for me and one of my favourites! Basically I watched it while going, "oh I know him" and "he was in..." so I loved the cast overall!

It covers such a serious, and social aspect of some peoples life which is mental health. And it was nice to see how it was represented through film in the 1970's and to compare the attitudes from then to now surrounding mental health was interesting. It was beautifully scripted, filmed and performed and I thoroughly enjoyed it and was completely drawn in! And I can't wait to study it in more detail and learn more about it. It has also inspired me to watch more older movies and I have already found a few and been suggested quite a few more, so I can't wait to watch them. I would highly recommend this film to absolutely anyone! A must see in my eyes.

Thankyou so much for reading this little post and i'll speak to you again soon.

NETFLIX PICKS! Some of my favourites from the past few months!

American Horror Story

I know American Horror Story is a very well known american tv series and is currently on its fourth season, and has a pretty big fan base, but I only joined the craze recently. I had heard of it before, but I only started watching season 1 on Netflix in July however I had finished season 3 by around August, I was just completely obsessed! With all the seasons I could watch 3 episodes back to back it was just so gripping and brillia
nt! There are currently 4 seasons, and each of them are different and consist of a different theme. As the first one was based in a "haunted house", the second season was based in an "asylum", the third one is based around witchcraft and the fourth one which is currently being shown on TV is based in a "Freakshow". Obviously each season has alot more to it, as they each have multiple storylines throughout with different characters, I was just giving a basic description of each season. It is a horror tv programme and it can be very scary and dark, at times, however that is what I personally like, but I do think many people would like it simply because of how interesting and gripping the storylines are, however it depends on what interests you. Oh and we can't forget Evan Peters! I'd say just watch it purely for him *obsessed* ❤️
I love that they pretty much have the same cast throughout each season, with the likes of Jessica Lange and Evan Peters who I am obsessed with, but also Sarah Paulson who is an outstanding actress and I loved her in season 2 especially! But she is also blowing me away with her current performance as siamese twins in season 4, she just makes each of her characters her own and its truly brilliant!
My favourite season has to be the second one, as I found each storyline in it so intriguing and gripping yet interesting. I loved all the characters and thought each actor did that character justice, I just simply loved it and I got through that season the fastest. I think there was alot more happening in this season compared to the first and third season and I simply enjoyed this season the most.
I highly recommend everyone to watch this, I think those, who like me love horror would love this and I just think its a gripping tv show!

Dead Silence

I was in the mood for a horror film and came across "Dead Silence" and I hadn't seen this in years! So long that I actually forgot what happened. It's a James Wan film, and I am a big fan of his work and this is just such a classic movie. If you think "Annabelle" is creepy, you should try and watch this and see what you think then. James Wan is known for his use of dolls, especially ventriloquist dolls, and he makes them ever so more creepy. It was released in 2007 and is basically about a man who returns to his hometown to search for answers about his wifes murder. But then he and us as an audience discovers more about the ghosts and the possesed dolls and it really is quite scary.
Its not my favourite horror film, nor is it my favourite James Wan film, however I do think its a classis horror mystery film to watch with your mates!
It doesn't have a star studded cast, besides Ryan Kwanten whose been in True Blood, which is obviously a big tv hit. Not sure why but thats debatable. Overall the acting isn't the best but I think thats what makes it more enjoyable. Im not sure about you, but I find some films, especially horrors, if there's bad acting and I mean really bad it makes it more enjoyable! But I must emphasise SOME films get away with it. I think probably slasher horrors get away with it most, like "Friday 13th", "Halloween" and "Wrong Turn" etc.
But Dead Silence is one i'd recommend and a good classis horror to watch with your mates while eating pizza or something!

Hercules (Disney Version)

I thought i'd be a little more upbeat with my suggestions. I was beyond excited when I found that Hercules had been added to Netflix as its my all time favourite disney film. It is basically based on the story of Hercules, which I'm sure everyone has heard of, this is just Disneys take on it. I just love it and it brings back so many memories from when I was younger when I used to dance around and sing to all the songs, but to be honest, I still do that now.
My favourite character in it is Phil, who trains Hercules, I just think he is so cute and hilarious and he has been my favourite since I was a child. However, I loved Meg, I always wanted to be like her and loved it when her and Hercules lived happily ever after.
As I was briefly saying before, I know every word of every song in Hercules, I especially love "Zero to Hero". I just love Disney songs in general they are so catchy and nostalgic and you can just belt out your best, or in my case worst singing voice and I am just a big kid when it comes to Disney. You should have seen me in Disneyland in Florida in July.
However, Hercules is my personal all time favourite and I am of course going to recommend everyone watches it. My favourite time to watch Disney films is on a Sunday, in my pyjamas, wrapped in a duvet on the sofa with a cup of tea. Perfection.

The Proposal

As any girl does, you get in one of those soppy, romantic moods and whats better than to watch a rom-com. I found "The Proposal" on Netflix and it is now one of my favourite romantic comedy movies ever!
It was released in 2009 and stars Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds and it is basically about Sandra Bullocks character "Margaret" who forces her assistant (Ryan Reynolds character Andrew) to marry her in order to keep her US visa and avoid being deported to Canada. But following both characters on this journey was both gripping, hilarious and romantic, as you watch them both fall for eachother and its incredibly cute. A real up-beat movie and one that I thoroughly enjoyed! It made me laugh and cry and engaged me so much all the way through.
I love Sandra Bullock and I am a big fan of hers and just simply adored her in this. Her character is hilarious, you shouldn't like her but you do and its just Sandra Bullock! And all I have to say is Ryan Reynolds. As well as him being incredibly gorgeous, his character too was hilarious and sweet and just adorable.
I recommend this film to anyone who is in the mood for a little rom-com, but really cant find one or think of one, or simply looking for a really good one they haven't seen before. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was a real feel good film!

A very random choice, however these are four tv/films that I have watched on Netflix during the past few months. I really recommend you get Netflix, its only £5.99 a month and you get so much choice, including Neflix exclusive series, which I will do a seperate post on, as well as many other great choices of TV programmes and films. Its a great thing to have on a lazy Sunday or any day for that matter!

Well thankyou so much for reading and please follow me on Bloglovin', there is a link near the top of my page, and I will speak again soon!

Jurrasic Park Opens?

Lets just quicly talk about the new trailer for the highly anticipated summer blockbuster "Jurassic Park".

First thing I got from this trailer is WHY WOULD YOU SEND YOUR CHILDREN ALONE TO JURASSIC PARK! Do they not remember what happened in the last 3 films. I'm suprised it was allowed to be opened, haha! But no, in all seriousness I am very excited for this movie, and as its been 10 years since the last movie in the franchise was released I have high expectations for this one. After movies like "Gravity", "The Hunger Games" and "Interstellar" I can imagine the visual quality and CGI will be out of this world, and I have already had a glimpse of this from the trailer! And to compare the new reboot to the old classics will be interesting.

So we've seen our key characters in this trailer, Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) who I haven't seen much of besides "Guardians of the Galaxy", I liked him in that however will he fit into this kind of role and movie? Well only time will tell, from the trailer he does look suited but I look forward to seeing his on-screen performance. However at the end of the trailer I really dont understand the whole Chris Pratt and the Velociraptors vs the new dinosaur hybrid, but I suppose we will have to wait and see. Then there is Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help) who again I havent seen much of on-screen, besides "The Help" and "50/50", but seen in the trailer to be some highly intelligent scientist/bad arse female character, we will soon see what she too brings to "Jurassic Park". I find it refreshing that we are seeing new talent on our cinema screens, as there is only so much repetetive Tom Cruise roles you can take.

I love the return of the iconic "Jurassic Park" soundtrack, in slow piano format, it really adds some drama and tension to the trailer aswell as bringing back some memories of the previous old school movies! Oh and talking about audio, I'm sure they used the same sinister sound effect in the Godzilla (2014) trailer. You'll know what I mean when you watch the trailer, its around the middle of the trailer.

But i'm so excited for this to be released next summer, and to finally see this new dinosaur hybrid! Lets see if it lives up to the old school Jurrasic Park flicks whilst being slightly better!

Thanks for reading!

THE HUNGER GAMES TRIPLE BILL!

THE HUNGER GAMES TRIPLE BILL!

A few weeks ago now, I went to my local cinema to watch "The Hunger Games Triple Bill" which is where you can watch both "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire" before watching the new "Mockingjay" movie! And oh my goodness I was so excited!

I am a huge Hunger Games fan, I have read the books and watched the films religiously and it is one of my all time favourite films! I just love the story, the characters and I think the actors fit the roles perfectly! Especially Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson! And I admire the realism behind all three films and in all three books, based around power and politics, which is something that is a massive factor in life today. But all in all I love the franchise and I am highly anticipating an fantastic finale!

So Mockingjay was absolutely incredible! Despite there being no actual "Hunger Games" in the last two movies, there was just so much happening and it was just a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the movie! If like me, you have read the books, you will be highly impressed on how much they have kept the film to the book, well I certainly was! I was just on the edge of my seat throughout and at one moment of the film I dont think I could breathe because I was that caught up in the tension of a particular scene! It was insane! I was just simply astounded on how much they packed into one movie and they did an amazing job!

The visual quality as to be expected were sensational, the graphics and CGI really made the film ever so more exciting! There was one part in particular I loved, in which a certain district go out to blow up the flood bank, and with it being emotionally outstanding when seeing the rebellion beginning on screen, the CGI quality of the explosion was so realistic and really impacted well on the scene! And also the transformation on Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) was brilliant, as they used CGI on him to make him quite beaten, anorexic and to in general give him the look of being tortured! Again so realistic and really contributed to the quality of the movie!

Jennifer Lawrence's performance, was without a doubt sensational, she was alot more serious and fiesty yet messed up in this movie and it was to be expected with what her character was up against. But with all the characters performances they were too sensational, such as Gale (Liam Hemsworth) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and I absolutely loved President Alma Coin of District 13 (Julianne Moore) I think she was the perfect choice for the role and lived up to the character from the novel. However I really didnt understand Finnick's (Sam Claflin) role in this movie, as he just appeared every so often, with no dialogue and just sat there looking abit mental. Obviously I understand why from the previous movies however it didnt really need to be shown. The only performance he had was when he was distracting signals by revealing the truth about the Capitol. So in general I really didnt understand his random appearances in the movie. Besides when he was reunited with Annie, which was incredibly cute. And of course, the movie paid tribute to the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman, whose performance too was great and his character was such a vital part in the narrative.

I also loved "The Hanging Tree" song by Jennifer Lawrence which is sung around the middle of the movie, it was more so when all the Districts joined in and it turned into a communal song. And it just gave me goosebumps. And I also love "Yellow Flicker Beat" by Lorde, it just suits the movie so well and I love Lorde!

So in general I absolutely freaking loved this film and can't wait until the next one! Yeah it did leave on a little bit of a cliffhanger but thats made me even more excited! I think seeing the two movies before did build up the excitement abit more but I probably would have been just as excited if I just saw it on its own. Yes I was in the cinema from half 6 at night until half 2 in the morning but it was worth it! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE WATCHES IT!

Thankyou for reading and I'll speak to you soon!

As Above So Below...More Below.

Summer is over and I am back. I have been to ORLANDO FLORIDA and was so lucky to finally go to the brand new Harry Potter theme parks aswell as the rest of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I literally nearly cried when I walked into Diagon Alley and I was in general overwhelmed with emotions as I am such a big Harry Potter fan! I also went to Disney Land of course! Just seeing your favourite films come to life is just a complete and utter dream! And I had such an amazing time!

But as soon as I got home I got myself and friends to the cinema for a good old horror film. Horror is my favourite genre of film, from supernatural to gore! So we went to see As Above So Below as it was a new release and the trailer and advertising campaign really appealed to me.

Now its coming to that time of year, my favourite time of year, where its autumn, halloween and bonfire night is upon us and is time for horror films to shine! So we went to see this, ive seen so many advertisments about it but I also heard of it from Pewdiepies 'Catacombs Experience' on Youtube, as the film is based in the Catacombs under Paris. He was sent into the Catacombs in Paris by the makers of the film to promote the movie and they did a good job because it was so scary, but hilarious to see Pewdiepie in there being scared senseless.

But back to the film. It is a documentary styled film, where a young architect is on the search for "the philosiphers stone"(Yeah, I thought Harry Potter too). After her father commited suicide she wanted to continue her fathers work to find the stone and finds herself deep in the catacombs, along with her friend and cameraman and two french locals who help her sneak into the Catacombs.

I have to admit, it moves at quite a fast pace, so the build up and scare factor lacked in my opinion, however I guess its good because it gets right to the point. I found it quite confusing at first, as to what was going on and where they were but in the end it makes alot of sense. So the group enter the "gates of hell" where people have been said to go in and never return. So obviously as a typical horror film, they go in! But I dont know I just didnt really enjoy it that much.

There wasnt alot of physical scares, such as monsters, visibal demons and ghosts, serial killers, you know the usual! haha. But you only see a strange man and a few people walking around in cloaks. Thats it. Just in my own opinion I got quite bored. It just got repetitive. And the way the chosen characters died was so boring. I know it sounds sick saying that but I mean in the film world, I wouldnt want any character to die, but its horror and thats the way it is. It just lacked scare factor for me and to say its a horror film, i didnt find it scary at all.

There was obviously the cheesy romance between the two main characters which just killed the whole horror vibe completely. I just watched the whole "Ill love you no matter what happens line" and was like for gods sake. And they lived happily ever after. Which just made it so much more cheesy! CHEESE CHEESE CHEESE!

So as much as I hate to speak negatively about films, I just did not enjoy this movie and found it quite repetitive and it just wasnt scary. However it is quite historically intereting at some moments. And it wasnt entirely terrible there were parts which had you at the edge of your seat. But all in all not the best supernatural horror film ive seen.

Im glad to be back blogging! :-)

Guess who's back?

Yes the almight and powerful Godzilla is making a comeback to our screens and hes bigger and better than ever before.

This is the reboot since the last Godzilla movie which was released in 1998 with Matthew Broderick, which I have to say is an amazing movie, I loved it as the special effects were so old school and to see how the quality in film has progressed when I watch the new Godzilla will be interesting.

Godzilla was conceived as a metaphor for nuclear weapons. Some stories took on less serious undertones portraying Godzilla as a hero while other plots still portrayed Godzilla as a destructive monster. So really we dont know if Godzilla is the good guy or a bad guy, it purely depends on the chosen story, however when watching interviews with Gareth Edwards he says Godzilla is put there to restore and rebalance humaity. And also Godzilla is directed by a british actor! So this too will be interesting to see how a british director will deal with such a huge movie icon!

They have released quite a few trailers, from teasers to snippets and scenes from the film. However the movie looks phenomenal, the special effects look outstanding and so realistic. And from what I have seen of Godzilla himself he has been kept to his traditional style and his roar is as classic and terrifying as ever before. The actors look so well suited to the film, Bryan Cranston from my favourite ever tv series "Breaking Bad" his performance from just the trailer looks troubled yet brilliant so I have high expectations. Aaron-Taylor Johnson who I personally wouldnt first pick to be in this movie but we shall see, he could suprise us! And we also have Elizabeth Olsen, I have enjoyed her performances in Silent House and Old Boy, so I think she will fit in nicely with this film, but you dont see alot of her in the trailer so I cannot pre-judge.

But I aswell as everyone else will be going to watch it!

Thankyou so much for reading.
